Zebulun
The tenth son of Jacob and the sixth by Leah, and founder of the tribe of Zebulun. Jacob's blessing places the tribe by the sea and towards Sidon, and Moses's blessing speaks of it rejoicing in its going out and drawing the riches of the sea. Zebulun's fighting men were praised in the Song of Deborah for risking their lives on the heights, and they answered Gideon's summons. The tribe's territory in lower Galilee later held Nazareth, and Isaiah's promise of light to Zebulun and Naphtali is applied to Christ's ministry there.
