Terah

The father of Abram, Nahor and Haran, and a descendant of Shem. He took Abram, Sarai and his grandson Lot and set out from Ur of the Chaldeans for the land of Canaan — but they came to Haran and settled there, and there Terah died at two hundred and five. Joshua's farewell speech records that Terah and his family served other gods beyond the River, which sets Abraham's call in relief.
