Caleb
One of the twelve sent to spy out Canaan, and with Joshua one of only two who urged Israel to go up at once and take it. For that faith the pair alone of their generation were promised they would enter the land. Forty-five years later, at eighty-five, he came to Joshua and asked for the hill country of Hebron with its fortified towns and Anakim, saying he was as strong then as the day Moses sent him. He took it, and gave his daughter Achsah to Othniel for capturing Kiriath-sepher.
