Amalek

A grandson of Esau, son of Eliphaz by his concubine Timna, and ancestor of the Amalekites. The people became Israel's first enemy after the exodus, attacking the stragglers at Rephidim while Moses held up his hands on the hill — an act that brought the standing charge to blot out their memory. Saul's failure to carry it out cost him the kingdom.
