Tarshish
A distant port of the western Mediterranean, proverbial in scripture for the far end of the sea and for the wealth of long-distance trade. Jonah took ship for Tarshish in the opposite direction from Nineveh when he fled his commission (Jonah 1:3; 1 Kings 10:22).

For the king had a fleet of Tarshish at sea with Hiram’s fleet. Once every three years the fleet of Tarshish came, bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.
